Brand new board book, 32 pages. Measures 15 x 16 cm.

Here is the blue sheep, and here is the red sheep.
Here is the bath sheep, and here is the bed sheep.
But where is the green sheep?

Mem Fox and Judy Horacek take you on a wildly wonderful adventure in their rollicking search for the green sheep.

Mem has never owned a sheep, let alone a green one, but she does admit to having woolly thoughts from time to time.

Judy loves drawing things, especially sheep. This is her first flock.

About the author

Mem Fox was born in Australia, grew up in Africa, studied drama in England, and returned to Adelaide, Australia in 1970, where she has lived with her husband, Malcolm, and daughter Chloe.

Mem Fox is Australia’s most highly regarded picture-book author. Her first book, Possum Magic, is the best selling children’s book ever in Australia, with sales of over three million. And in the USA Time for Bed and Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge have each sold over a million copies. Time for Bed is on Oprah’s list of the twenty best children’s books of all time. Mem has written over thirty picture books for children and five non-fiction books for adults, including the best-selling Reading Magic, aimed at parents of very young children.

Mem Fox was an Associate Professor in Literacy Studies at Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia, where she taught teachers for twenty four years until her early retirement in 1996. She has received many civic awards, honours and accolades in Australia, including two honorary doctorates. She has visited the United States over one hundred times, mostly in her role as a literacy expert although she is also a well-known author in America. She is an influential international consultant in literacy, but she pretends to sit around writing full time.

Mem's recent books include Where is the Green Sheep?, Hunwick's Egg, A Particular Cow, Where The Giant Sleeps, Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes, Hello Baby!, The Goblin and the Empty Chair  and There's A Giraffe in the Bath. She lives in Adelaide, Australia.

About the illustrator

Judy Horacek (born 12 November 1961) is an Australian cartoonist, illustrator and writer whose work is widely published and exhibited. Horacek graduated with a BA from the University of Melbourne in 1991, majoring in Fine Arts and English. She then studied for a Diploma in Museum Studies.

She lives in Canberra, ACT. Horacek started her career as a writer, and was a member of a community writing group in North Melbourne. Words are an important part of her cartoons, and sometimes dominate the pictures. Judy's cartoons have been described as whimsical and quirky, and can be found in newspapers and magazines, online, on aprons and teatowels, on mugs, on fridge magnets and cards, and as limited edition prints. As she says, "I take every day situations and make them strange"

Judy illustrated Mem Fox's non-fiction book, Reading Magic, and in 2004 she illustrated her first children's book, Mem's Where is the Green Sheep. It was shortlisted for several book awards, and in 2005 won the Children's Book Council of Australia Book of the Year - Early Childhood Award. She has since started writing her own children's books, the first being The Story of Growl, which was published in 2007. This was followed by two picture books for preschoolers, These are My Feet in 2008 and These are My Hands in 2009

In 2005, a selection of her work was acquired by the National Library of Australia for its collection. She said at the time that "I really like being recognised for having done work that is part of the social discourse. And it's always nice to see cartoons get another lease on life - now they represent a particular time and context and become part of the portrait of who we [Australians] are".
